Recipe for a classic Margherita Pizza

Margherita Pizza


Ingredients:


1 batch of pizza dough

1/2 cup of tomato sauce

8 ounces of fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced

A handful of fresh basil leaves

Salt and pepper to taste

Extra virgin olive oil

Instructions:


Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).


Roll out your pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness and shape.


Transfer the pizza dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.


Spoon the tomato sauce on top of the pizza dough and spread it evenly, leaving a little space around the edges for the crust.


Arrange the slices of fresh mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce.


Season the pizza with salt and black pepper to taste.


Drizzle a little extra virgin olive oil over the pizza.


Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.


Once the pizza is done, remove it from the oven and sprinkle some fresh basil leaves on top.


Slice and serve your Margherita Pizza hot!
